Etching by Min James

In The Moonlight

I see the Tigress in the moonlight,
Silence moving in the long grass.
Flash of eyes
She hears me
Stalking
Shadow clouds
Of blue and silver
Splash through
Ripple
Tiger meeting moonlit Tigress
At the river's edge
Between the reeds
And rushes
Silver waves
And whiskers quivver
White bird flies up flapping
Clapping
Snow wings
After disappearing Tigers

See the moonlight on the long grass Hear the whisper of the river
Catch the scent of
Something coming
Catch the wind
Beneath our wings
Follow river
To the sea
Follow ocean
To its springs
After day, after night
Chase the sun
or
Lay in moonlight
Following the heart that sings
Rising up through clouds and
Beating time with instinct's measure Into morning sunlight
Soaring
Warming
To our pleasure.
